The first Summer Grand Prix competitions are behind us. Last weekend, a team and an individual competition took place in Wisła. The Polish athletes should be especially satisfied with the results. They took the victory as a team on Saturday and on Sunday Kamil Stoch and Piotr Żyła took the first and second place on the podium.
After the individual competition, Slovenian ski jumper, Anze Lanisek said a few words about preparations and his predictions for the upcoming contests. He did not take part in the team competition but he was 41st in the qualification so he could participate in the individual one where he took the 30th place. Last season, the Slovenian, took part mainly in the Continental Cup. He was on the podium very often, winning some of them as well. In the World Cup, he could not show a good performance: His best result was a 32nd place in Nizhny Tagil.
„It wasn’t the best season. I could have done a lot of things differently and better but this is ski jumping, this is the sport. Sometimes you don’t jump as good as you want. I hope to improve next season.”
Lanisek took part in the Continental Cup in Kranj that was held before Wisła. He finished as 12th and 15th.
„Now I try to focus on myself and we’ll see the results. The preparations to the season are good so far, without injury and that’s the most important. I’m going to take part in the competition in Hinterzarten and then I will take a little break”
The qualification in Hinterzarten starts on Friday, 27.07.2018, at 19:00 LOC
