World Cup in Ski jumping is continuing in Lahti, Finland this weekend. Ryoyu Kobayashi (JPN) won the qualification with 127.0m, followed by Halvor Egner Granerud (NOR, 125.5m) on second and Stefan Kraft (AUT, 124.0m) on third place.
The athletes started with two training rounds before the qualification at 18.00 CET on friday. The best in training was Daniel Andre Tande (NOR, 132.0m). Philipp Aschenwald (AUT) , shared the same distance with Tande.Only 7 athletes were out this time, unfortunately two Slovenians, Tepeš (51st) and Peter Prevc (54th) included. Starting off gate 8, the athletes fought their way into Sunday’s competition. Antti Aalto is the holder of the longest distance of qualification, 128.0m were enough for the best Finn to qualify and ending as 4th. The best pole in qualification was Dawid Kubacki, who ended qualification on the 5th place. We also witnessed the comeback of the Austrian Gregor Schlierenzauer (122.5m). The hill was obviously working well for Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes (CAN, 117.0m) who showed some improvement and finished 25th.
The competition will continue on Sunday, tomorrow is team event, starting with Trial at 15.15 CET and Round 1 at 16.15 CET.
